Determination of Potassium Levels in Bananas Using an Optical Sensor with a Flat and Concave Mirror Plane

Potassium is a nutrient that plays role in maintaining the function of muscles and nerves control heart needed for body stability. The potassium content can be obtained from foods such as bananas. development instruments methods are developed to obtain more accurate measurement concentration requires an instrument has high linearity sensitivity. form optical sensor system equipped with use fibers guide waveform maintain its intensity In this study, experimental method was conducted sample standard solution solute pure water solvent. Then continue measurements on samples banana milk green fruit extracts. results analysis data using concave mirror reflection plane sensitivity 0.36 mV/ppm 82.56%. flat reflection, shows 0.12 97.6%. highest most value found results. next stage result maximum output voltage read detector through extracts banana. linear equation bananas 391.54 ppm extract 307.91 ppm, so it concluded higher than 97%.
